Zoom presentation - Spirituality with Dr Beth Foley

Spirituality with Dr Beth Foley

Page 129 of the Red Book

In this presentation we will explore how to work with spiritual experience in a way that is psychologically grounded while remaining open to mystery, meaning and the numinous. Jung understood spirituality as an essential aspect of individuation—the lifelong movement towards a more conscious relationship with the Self. Together we will consider how spiritual experience can emerge through encounters with the unconscious, periods of suffering, and the search for meaning. Particular attention will be given to cultivating psychological discernment, enabling us to distinguish genuine experiences of transformation from inflation, regression, unconscious identification, and other experiences that can imitate spiritual development.
