Zoom Presentation - Spiritual Practices in Jungian Psychoanalysis with Les Stein

It’s not possible to be interested in Jung without also being interested in the numinous, that spiritual or religious dimension that goes beyond logic. Jung looked to spiritual disciplines, Hinduism, Sufism, Daoism, Kabbalah, as touching the numinous, supporting the process of individuation that he promoted. However, he cautioned specifically that practicing an Eastern spiritual discipline is not suitable for a Westerner.  Now that so many of us are engaged in spiritual practices, is that advice still appropriate, or can Eastern practices be now considered a useful and important adjunct to psychological growth.

Les Stein is a Jungian Analyst, whose publications relevant to this talk include: Becoming Whole: Jung’s Equation for Realizing God; Working with Mystical Experiences in Psychoanalysis; The Self in Jungian Psychology: Theory and Clinical Practice; The Journey of Adam Kadmon: A Novel. He is also the editor of the soon to be released: Eastern Practices and Individuation: Essays by Jungian Analysts.

Tickets to Les’s presentation are available here.
