Presentation: What to Expect from Psychoanalysis with Les Stein

  • Mitchell Theatre, SMSA 280 Pitt St Sydney, NSW 2000 Australia (map)

This presentation will examine the very practical issues of what can be expected from psychoanalysis.  What will happen?  What will change?  How does this occur?  How long will it take?  Is it worth the expense?  What is asked of me?  How does it relate to my spiritual life?  Do I need a psychologist instead of a psychoanalyst? Do I have to buy into a theory?  Will I stop suffering?

Using the writings of Jung and clinical experience, Jungian Analyst Les Stein will address the critical, real questions of the nature of psychoanalysis.  He will examine what the individuation process, the term used by Jung, actually means in real terms and what is likely to occur over time.

Les Stein is a Jungian Analyst in private practice in Sydney.  He is a graduate of the C.G. Jung Institute of New York and a member of the New York Association for Analytical Psychology, the Australian New Zealand Society of Jungian Analysts and the International Association for Analytical Psychology.  His latest forthcoming book is “Deep Psychology of the Mystical Experience” for Karnac Books, London.
