The Great White Male was born of the Enlightenment, Industrial Revolution and European colonial expansion and reigned supreme for some 400 years. Now their once almighty power is being challenged by the transfer of wealth to new economies, deep questioning of the moral basis of their power and a demand to destroy their sacred statues.

But, rather than analysing the rise and fall of the Great White Male at a exoteric, historical level, is it also possible to analyse their trajectory through a mythological, archetypal lens?

Sydney Jung Society President Robert Dommett takes up the challenge of tracing the underlying forces at work in the rise and fall of Great White Male leadership. His analysis starts the role of the ancient Persian form of Logos known as Xvarnah which was the underpinning of sacral kingship and the divine origins of leadership and social order.

Xvarnah is bound to the destiny of each individual, allowing them to carry out their duties and represents their right to leadership. The Halo around the head of Jesus in Orthodox iconography symbolises Xvarnah.

Whilst it can be gained, Xvarnah can also be lost. Robert will help guide us through the process whereby Great White Males captured the power of Xvarnah and also finds the fatal lie that caused them to lose it, and with it their great bronze symbols of power which are now under threat of being torn down by Black Lives Matter protestors. Now the last vestiges of their power are under threat from the Me Too movement and more recently for us post-COVID Aussies further dark revelations of sexual misconduct.

But where is the Xvarnah now? Who now holds the force of sacral kingship today and what sort of world is it creating? Join Robert on April 9th for answers to these and many other challenging questions.

Robert Dommett is a systems analyst, researcher and developer of social profiling and web applications for use in the corporate sector and has an MBA. He is President of the CG Jung Society of Sydney and is an avid reader in the areas of depth psychology, ancient religions, consciousness & artificial intelligence and has a particular interest in the work of Wolfgang Giegerich and Henry Corbin.
